Director
and Board President - Tommy Casarona
Tommy is a native Clevelander who joined the BRFB in the summer
of 2004. He began playing French horn at the age of eleven,
continuing to play through his senior year of high school.
During high school, he also learned to play valve trombone and
was involved in jazz ensemble, marching band, concert band, and
served as his high school's drum major during his senior year.
Currently the longest active member of the group, Tommy is an
original member of the Board of Directors, having served two
terms as secretary, as well as serving as drum major since 2004,
and has aided in the formation of the ensemble that is in
existence today. He has marched with members of the BRFB in
parades in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Lansing, Detroit,
Chicago, Rochester and Indianapolis. Musically, he has a
multitude of talents, including proficiencies in French horn,
trombone and conducting. He has performed with the Lesbian Gay
Band Association in Ft Lauderdale, New York City for the
Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, New Orleans for the Southern
Decadence Parade, and in Washington, D.C. in the Inaugural
Parade of President Barack Obama. Currently, he is also the
President of the BRFB.
